The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a widely used standardized test to assess applicants for graduate programs across arts and sciences. It’s accepted by many graduate schools worldwide for admission to various disciplines. The GRE comes in two formats: General and Subject, and is suitable for students seeking master’s or doctoral programs.
The GRE assesses your verbal and quantitative reasoning skills, critical thinking, and analytical writing abilities. It tests your English fluency, focusing on reading comprehension and understanding words in context rather than memorization. A GRE score is accepted by many graduate and business schools, and its importance in admissions can vary from being a requirement to a crucial factor. The significance of a GRE score differs between schools and departments. A high GRE score becomes particularly important when other aspects of your application are weak.
Before applying for admission, students must have completed their undergraduate degree. If the applicant hasn’t completed their undergraduate degree, their GRE scores will not be considered valid.
